Engineering For Change

Between Fall 2011 and Spring 2012, I worked as a researcher and writer for Engineering for Change (E4C), a joint project of ASME, IEEE and EWB-USA. E4C describes itself as “a dynamic and growing community of engineers, technologists, social scientists, NGOs, local governments and community advocates whose mission is to improve quality of life in communities around the world by facilitating the development of affordable, locally appropriate and sustainable solutions to the most pressing humanitarian challenges.” (Link, accessed 2/28/12)

I have worked with E4C on a variety of projects, including a series of articles that I wrote for their blog:

I also served on a working group laying the foundations for E4C’s Appropriate Solutions Evaluation Program, a platform for evaluating development engineering projects and technologies.
